Gypsy Nikki

Nikki has rode Mutiny pretty much since Joe and I took over and we stoked to have him on the bro team. Nikki likes to travel and at the start of this year him and his buddies took a trip to Australia. Here is his take on it and some cool pics:

So on the 15th of January, some friends and myself went out to Australia. It seems along time ago now but I've only just got all the pictures sorted out so i thought i may as well write about the trip seems as though it was one of the best times of my life.......

Me and Alan flew to Sydney to meet Orlando and Tom O' Boyle who have already been out there for over a month! those guys looked totally different and who wouldnt after living in the wild for that period of time. After hearing so many stories of whats already happened i could never be more excited to see this amazing place for myself, Those guys being out there already had to buy a van to travel around, which happened to be a van owned by pimp to be used as a mobile brothel... first stop was Bondi Beach. This park was sick! massive concrete pool with pool coping, good flowing park which Tom had dialled and best of all was right next to the beach so you could chill, ride and swim all in one session, so good. Once Jet Lag kicks in there isn't anything better than going back to a hostal with a pool on the roof and a sauna.

For the next couple of days we just chilled around Sydney, Rode a good street plaza and went to one of my favourite parks ever, Dulwhich. This park was so good huge quarters, good hips, a tight bowl section and a 70's snake run at the top of the hill. The same day we rode an amazing drainige ditch that stretched out for miles. its good camping out in Oz you don't have many worries most camping spots have barbecues so you always sorted to get a decent meal.

Waking up early was something that was done on the trip very often, because non of us really had watches we just slept when it got dark and woke at sunrise, mainly due to the heat in our tent, unbearable! I only visited Maruuba skatepark once but enjoyed it loads, the skatepark was like one big circle you could just keep going round and round. Ive never heard a van like
the Tarago, driving upto Blue Mountains was interesting, hills and forests everywhere. At the top of Blue Mountains is a view called Echo's Point, this is basically a massive cliff where you could see for miles and is untouched forest, pretty much the biggest thing ive seen in life.

Drivng back down Blue Mountains we passed a skatepark, we called it the Smurf park as for some reason it had smurf Graffitti everywhere! the noises of crazy birds and smurfs everywhere spun me out a bit to be honest. The skatepark itself was fun quite small but had quite a few lines. On the way towards Sydney we passed a place called Campbletown that had one of the biggest ditches I've seen or rode. So this was the last day in Sydney we could pick Scott (STP) up from the airport and start our Travels, spent the night looking at all the skyline and Opera house, as Scott was quite knackered from the flight not much riding was done.

Kiama was the first place out of Sydney which had a good park and a pool which was attached to the sea, damn fresh. within 5minutes STP slashed his foot open on a rock sticking out on the pool walls, trying to find him a bandage we came across 2 Ferraris, and 1 of them was driven by the one and only Jamiroquai, hahaha that guy looked smooth! The skatepark

The skatepark had an amazing hip which everyone was flying about on, STP forced himself to ride trying forget about the gash in his foot. Spent the rest of the night playing the best arcade game in bar, long live 'Buck hunter'.

Ulladulla wasn't a town we stayed in for long, after 4 minutes of being there we got pulled over as Tom wasn't wearing a seat belt, this is when i found out that Tom had already been fined for driving the Tarago round with no Rego(Mot and Insurance) i think he said about 800dollars worth. The man in blue left saying that we couldn't drive anywhere in the van so as you do we went to the park, i couldn't ride as somehow i slashed my foot in Kiama's pool. Lots of discussion about what to do so the idea of driving out that state was the one that got put in action, Orlando driving us through mountain after mountain and an hour later we hit a town called Braidwood where they had some tight fullpipes which were really fun to ride. Carried on Driving to reach a destination, Canberra. Didn't ride much as a lot of driving was done so chilled with a Coopers and watched people ride.

Today was going to be a long day, next spot Melbourne. We passed about 5 towns on the 400km stretch of road taking 4 hours and filling the rig up 3 times, braking down out here you would be screwed. We passed many trees all of which has burn marks all over them from forest fires, nothing was really alive out there. We stopped at town that had a submarine in the middle of it. A couple of hours later we arrived at Rye which is on the ooutskirts out Melbourne, we camped at the park but it was pitch black so we couldnt ride. In the middle of the night i heard a car screaming about apperantly some youths were trying to steal the rig luckily enough Orlando was sleeping in there, which made the kids shit themselves and drive off into a dead end, IDIOTS!!!

Woke up to see what Rye had to offer and happened to be a cradle and a huge bowl, Tom was straight on it being upside down, riding the spot as if he was a local. After riding we walked towards the pier to swim, the sea over there was amazing best word to describe it was bath. We retreated from the sea as Orlando noticed that lots of Jelly fish started to gather around us. Frankston had an amazing bowl and street plaza but was covered in kids getting in each others way so we couldn't really ride much, so we headed to a random ditch, this ditch was good had a tight wallride on it, STP dropped a sick gap line. The park after im not sure what the name of the place was but Alans was riding this quarter pretty good. Finally got to Melbourne where just watched lots of bats fly around and see really high bright buildings.

After a day of Melbourne we moved on, another route which was going to take about 6hours drive and crossing timezones. Adelaide was roughly 700km's away and it was only one road there. When we arrived there it was 8pm and it was only the outskirts, however we were at West Beach skatepark. This park apperantly had the biggest vert ramp in the southern hemisphere, another good thing about this park was that behind the vert ramp was a button that you could press to keep the lights on for the park, so we rode till 3am. (thanks to the random guys who brought us loads of drinks)

The trip was coming to a chill now, we drove to meet Rodney who let us stay us stay at his placefor a week or so, much appreciated to that guy. His house was placed right next to the sea and the train station was around the corner so we could travel to Adelaide's central park, which was amazing for the next week we basically rode Adelaide park and all the street it had, Tom somehow managed to eat a gekko's tail and a raw egg in the time of us staying there, As things were settling a little i thought i would scope around, i realised how nice everyone is in Oz, they will stop in the street to see if your ok and need help with anything. Our last day was quite loose, drank till 1am when our flight out of Adelaide back to Sydney
was 4:30am.

A day later and we were back where we started, said bye to Tom and Orlando as they flew back first, I wanted to ride Dulwhich another time and get STP to ride it. Mental note if your in Oz don't think about skipping train fare! i kept telling STP we would be fine and somehow these stormtroopers came out of no where caught us out, so off the train we went and passed them my ID which was a National Insurance card that states no proof of ID and anwsering their question "where are you staying?" with a "why..." caused tension so i had to explain that 'Y' was a hostal in Sydney, losers!

Just want to say Cheers to Tom and Orlando for driving us around, and Alan and STP for good times! if you havent seen this
this yet there is a few clips of the trip the final edit will be on the new Make vid.
