Gold . Printed on 50/50 American Apparel shirts. Get some.
Morgan has been busy as normal, here is what he had to say about what he has been up to;
"Alright lets see... Germany was good, except for the PCL I no longer have in my right knee. Fun comp though, ended up in third place.
Dew Tour was Dew Tour...
China didn't work out due to the Visa place losing my passport and getting it back to me 6 hours after my flight left for China... so I ended up going to the Baco Jam instead. It was awesome, I had a great time and somehow won the comp! Had three costumes with me and used all of them! It was sweet. Night #1.
Chip n Dale Contest. Space Ghost Night #2.
"Scream" Guy"and Natalie was The Cat in the Hat & "Scream" Girl. Did I mention that my name along with a few others is now tattooed on a someones
hairy a$$?!? Had a few weeks of down time in which I was a slacker! Ha ha...
Just got back from the LG Action Sports Championships in downtown Dallas, TX. It was a pretty
fun contest with a hefty prize purse. I ended up pulling my whole run with no problems and won the comp so that was a really fun treat! Not to mention, I'm $30,000 richer! I think I had a slight advantage though, I was the only one there that actually enjoyed jumping the 6 foot tall 16 foot deck box jump. It also didn't hurt to have a few thousand screaming texans cheering me on! Sometimes you gotta hold it down for the home state! =P Needless to say I'm super Stoked On Being Pumped! After the comp we stuck around and watched Ludacris "Act A Fool"! Add a little more Stoked On Being Pumped! Luda kicks butt!

Mutiny bikes...... good weather, good people and a good home
Niki sent me a story he wrote about his trip to Austin. Enjoy. Also there is some cool photos too, all photos by Tom Sears.
T/BogSpread 'emFence blastHip boostThread the needleProper flattyWall riderSo here I am after travelling from the no-mans land of Australia across the Autobahn through Germany towards the hometown of BMX, Austin, TX. Everyones' views on BMX are all different, we all ride for different reasons, mine is to travel and meet new people who will eventually become friends. So when Gaz at Mutiny bikes said he will fly me out to Austin to visit him I couldn't refuse. Since I first met Gaz all he ever spoke about was Austin and how good it is was, I could't understand but after leaving there I think I have the Austin disease, I guess im doing the same as him.
So I left England as it was just getting dark at 6/6:30 which i know will only get worse in the middle of winter. There are so many expectations you can have when visiting somewhere that you have seen on videos and heard stories about but who wouldn't when going to a place where so many good riders have come from. If you ever go to America make sure you haven't been in trouble with the police otherwise your coming straight back, I have been in no bother all my life and I still got put in the "bad boy" room (twice) as Gaz would say.
So I arrived to the Happy face of Gaz Sanders and Aron Hoag, i knew this was going to be good trip, The instant vibe you get from people saying hi, smiling faces and general positivity is amazing and i haven't even touched my bike yet. As my first time to America I had little knowledge on food and many other things, so eating mexican food instead of a gregg's at half the price is a reality check. It took me 3 or 4 days before I settled in properly and met some riders, which started off down at Empire bmx. This is definitly the location for people to hook up before going riding and from what i could tell, one of the foundations of Austin BMX. This is where i met most of the riders such as
Hanson Little, Ryan smith, Kevin Porter, A.Ross Etc.....
Lucky for me there was an English kid out there the same time as me and he knew most the spots so he shown me around mostly for the first week or so, I couldn't believe the places I was seeing. The spots look just like they do on videos but bigger and when you ride them you know for a fact its going to be fun. I eventually met Joe Simon at some point on my trip however as he was busy working on SOBP he was locked away for weeks in his batcave. Speaking of meeting people I just want to mention how cool it was to meet Sandy Carson i've looked upto him for years and his coffee obsession stories impressed me just as much as his riding. So after filming with Joe for SOBP it was time to see what else Austin had to offer. I heard Austin was the place to be for music so looked into what shows were playing where and within hours of doing that i was at a show seeing Sunset Rubdown which was the best show I've seen this year so far.
Everyone in Austin, TX was very welcoming towards me and it made it very easy for me to settle in, Hanson definitly helped out there he shown me most spots and drove me most places just so I could see for myself how fun this place was to be, he also took me to the 'The Skatepark Of Austin'. Coming from England its not often you ride indoors when its dry outside but i can understand why they went there, it was real fun! Another few days and empire sessions I went to visit '9th Street', its incredible the mentality that people have over here, if those trails were in england in a park they would never last. I could'nt figure out who were the locals and who wasn't and all the names people told me went in one ear and out the other so I'm sorry, all i can remember is Big Rob, that dude is awesome cheers for letting me ride!
If you're a BMXer you would of probably heard the band Lucero who I have a passion for and when I heard they was playing at emo's in Austin i couldn't believe what i was hearing, once again another reason why Austin is so good, so many riders where at this venue it was so much better than I could imagine.
Another Day and another 2 bowls of Lucky Charms, some things can't be replaced why did England get rid of them??? and why don't we get refills??? Most places I go when travelling I usually write down the things I did but so much was going on in Austin I couldn't keep up, one night Aron Hoag rang me and said I'm outside lets go to a party and just like that we was at a house party with some crazy metal band playing inside, which I have never witnessed before it was so good then watching big Rob and Slasher take out 5/6 party boys was even better, are they still alive?? Gaz hasn't been in Austin when it was Halloween so he was quite excited about the 9th street jam and so was i. Joe S flew out of his batcave to join the jam however he decided to peg chink a tree on the 1st jump and take himself top hospital, which put me in shock to be honest i was scared to ride after that(he's had surgery and hopefully going to be ok if he takes it easy, get well soon). The jam was pretty wild some kid called Andy decided to ride up a tree about 8foot and some AA pro slid 15ft on his chest, which brings me to Hunter.
Hunter(who also attended the Lucero show) is 13 and can ride a bowl faster than most people I have seen, he's so enthusiastic to ride, he reminds me of myself when I was younger. Everyone pretty much knows him and all he spoke to me about was riding T-1. I didn't get to ride T-1 until my last week in Austin, I met Taj down at Empire (who were doing a documentry for FOX about Austin BMX) he was very nice to meet and I couldn't believe what I was seeing, riding a ramp with people i've looked upto since I started riding, KP, A.ross, Danimal, Taj each one just enjoying a good time on their bikes. When the session was over Taj invited everyone to T-1, I couldnt' believe it the place I've always wanted to go and I'm going with a bunch of riders who are now friends. Everyone shredded the ramp but Taj was on a different level, if you have seen it you'd understand its like a fireworks show. A few days later me and Taylor, Hansons house mate went for a night session around the North it was real fun, rode until 4am then realised Hanson was taking me to Dallas the next day at 8am.
So I travelled upto Dallas to ride 'Allen' skatepark, its weird how you can drive 3hours to be in a total different city but drive 3hours in the UK you've drove to Scotland, a different country! Allen skatepark was full of bowls and crazy lines it was so fast and amazing to ride, best thing was no-one was riding it just us, we came back after food and it was slightly busy but we met up Kareem and George two amazing kids on bikes if you ever see them introduce yourself, garaunteed funny times.
Having to come to terms with leaving such a good place that you have started to settle in is horrible your leaving all the good times to go back home and for me its not what i want to do, the people over in Austin are awesome and up for a good time whether its on or off a bike, plus the weather is amazing. knowing in 2 days im going to need a hoody when going riding freaks me out especially when its too hot to ride in the daytime here.
I think thats everything I'm sure there is so much more that I have missed, but basically if you like bikes, you like music and you like meeting new people then go to Austin if i could live there tomorrow i would go visit and have the Austin experience there's nothing like it......
p.s. just want to say thanks to these people;
Tina and Tom at EmpireBMX, thanks for letting me ride and hang out in the shop, you put so much effort into your work its amazing, keep up the good work!
Gaz, cheers for the sofa and showing what the word FUN actually means.
Joe, doing it for the sake of the video!
Hanson, thanks for driving me everywhere and riding bikes like an animal! good times!
Taj, so many words without talking just watch him ride says it all, thanks for letting me ride the ramp its too good.
and everyone else I met good times happen in Austin!
