Kyle Bennett in the Olympics!

This week was the start of BMX in the Olympics - did you catch it? We sure as hell didn't. Here in the states NBC aired the quarterfinal heats from somewhere around 1 to 3am giving nobody the chance to see local boy and favorite Kyle Bennett take on the world at "HellTrack: Made in China Edition". Despite dislocating his shoulder after colliding with another rider, Bennett managed to qualify for the finals that will air at some god-knows-what time. For a perspective on the size of the dirt ramps these guys are hitting, check out the "small" rhythm section. Christ on a crutch those ain't small!

Neil Harrington & I grew up racing with Kyle at Armadillo Downs in Conroe, TX just outside of Houston. He was one of the first people I saw that truly had The Skills on a BMX bike. Like buttery-ass-smooth skills. The Blue Falcon will attest this as they were known to hang out at 'The Yard' (Bennett's backyard trails) testing their lap times & lung endurance.

Anyways, best of luck Kyle! Mutiny & the 9th St. crew are rooting for you. Bring home the gold. - Aron Hoag (29 Novice)

Justin

Anyways.....It's been kinda crazy around here. Between riding, working, and partying. I turned 22 last Tuesday so I had a party at the karaoke bar which got pretty rad. Lucero played on Monday before that and that kicked ass as well. Saturday I'm going to Judas Priest, Motorhead, and Dio so who knows if I'll even make it back, haha.

Morgan on Leno!

Anyone see Leno last night? me neither. Well turns out Morgan was on it, movin' them units! Yeah son.........

Morgan sent me an e-mail about whats been going on and some cool snaps from the games.

I've been running around like a chicken with its head cut off!!! Lets go back to June...

I left Tyler around the 15th for the first Dew Tour in Baltimore MD. I was able to hitch a ride with Zack Warden back up to Camp Woodward for a week after the competition. Camp was a lot of fun, & I'm proud to say that I didn't hit the pits at all really... I must not want that "DEW CUP" bad enough... =P

I flew home only to fly back out again to Seattle for the Mutiny NW Trip where I managed to rip my knee apart a little more than it already was. From Seattle I was off to Phoenix to do a stunt for the Levi's video that I'd been wanting to do for some time. Instead of getting the move done, I gave myself a birthday present that involved missing teeth & an ER visit... I got a sweet black eye out of that deal though, so I was psyched on that anyway!

On the 15th of July, exactly one day after arriving home from Phoenix, I was off to "Do the Dew" in Cleveland at the second stop of the Dew Tour. This would be my test weekend for using a full face helmet all of the time... After you've knocked your
teeth out five or so times, you'll start to want them to stay in your head! Still no
Dew Cup...

This time I was home for two whole days!!!! On the 24th, Natalie and I hopped in the GTi and drove out to Tucson for our one year Anniversary on the 25th. We had wanted to make it a camping trip, but the Monsoon Season had a different idea. One night under the stars is all we got before the buckets of rain came down. Luckily for us Natalie's family lives in Tucson so we had a place to stay during the rain!

After two days at our Mom & Dad's house in AZ we were headed to L.A. for the X-Games. I didn't do as well as I'd hoped to, but I had a great time riding the ramps and hanging out with everyone! Here are a few pics from this years X-Games that my family took of me;

Right now I'm just kinda waiting around until next weekend when I'll be doing some shows for Levi's at several Tilly's locations in SoCal. When I get home from this trip hopefully I'll be able to stay there for more than two days! =P
